October Art Exhibition. Until the 13th October, local photographer, Simon Taylor presents his latest body of work “Encounters”. Well worth a visit to the Arts Centre to see Simon’s stunning photography. Chorley Artists will then be exhibiting their group work from the 18th October to the 10th November. Bridge Group The Monday evening sessions will take place in the Arts Centre at 7pm on October 3rd , 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st October. Details from Bob on 01995 603524. The Tuesday Bridge Group will meet at 1.30pm in the Arts Centre on 4th, 11th and 25th October. Enquiries ring Mary on 01995 605210. New members are always very welcome at both sessions where they will be instructed by an experienced bridge player and find that existing members are all very willing to help. The next meeting of the Garstang Floral Art Group will take place in the Arts Centre on Tuesday 18th October, 2015, when Delia Hoyle returns to lead a workshop, making an arrangement using Foliage and Fruit – no flowers. The meeting starts at 2pm and visitors are very welcome. These may all be found in this month’s meeting entitled People and other animals. Led by Hilary McGrath, this will be a great meeting! It will give us all an opportunity to produce a huge range of poems from poets old and new. Visitors are always very welcome to our meetings. Come and sit and listen and join in if you wish. Christmas Craft Fair The Arts Centre Christmas Craft Fair will open at 10am on Saturday 5th November and will close at 4pm on Thursday 1st December 2016. We are always interested in receiving items from new exhibitors. This is a golden opportunity to display and sell your crafts – the Arts Centre takes 20% commission with the rest going to the person making the items. Goods for display should be taken to the Arts Centre during normal opening hours on Tuesday 1st or Thursday 3rd November. There will be a multitude of hand made items for sale, from knitwear (all ages) to pottery, jewellery to woodturning, cards for all occasions to paintings and a host of other unique items, all hand made by our talented exhibitors.
